Commonwealth Statutes Annotations: March 2024 update

New legislation information, case annotations and article references have been added to Commonwealth Statutes Annotations, including a note on Jones v Commonwealth [2023] HCA 34; (2023) 97 ALJR 936, under section 34 of the Australian Citizenship Act 2007.

The latest update has added over 117 new case annotations, numerous article references and details of proclamations of commencement registered on the Federal Register of Legislation up to 12 February 2024.

Commonwealth Statutes Annotations (2023 edition)

Commonwealth Statutes Annotations is a quick and easy research tool to navigate Commonwealth Acts. It provides notes to principal Commonwealth Acts and some Regulations and Rules of Court. These notes include assent and commencement details for the Principal Act, information about the Department responsible for the administration of the Principal Act (if applicable), references to articles and cases, regulations and rules made under the Principal Act since the latest reprint, as well as judges' considerations on specific provisions. The service also contains Tables of Numbered Acts, Bills and Proclaimed Legislation.
