Australian Government consults on responsible artificial intelligence (AI)

On 1 June 2023, the Australian Government released, Discussion Paper: Safe and Responsible AI in Australia for public consultation. The consultation builds on the National Science and Technology Council's, Rapid Research Information Report on Generative AI (Information Report) released in March 2023. This update provides an overview of the purpose and scope of the government's consultation, as well as providing a brief outline of the findings of the Information Report. The consultation is open for submissions until 26 July 2023.
