Legal update, Australian Information Commissioner commences civil penalty proceedings against Australian Clinical Labs following data breach from cyber attack provides a brief overview of proceedings filed against Australian Clinical Labs (ACL) that allege ACL's privacy practices in connection with a data breach in 2022 amounted to a serious interference with the privacy of individuals in breach of section 13G of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
