Announcing Our New Author: Barrister Vikram Misra
Vikram pairs top‑tier credentials with frontline advocacy. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration/Bachelor of Laws (Macquarie University), a Graduate Diploma in Taxation (The University of Sydney), and a Master of Laws in Contract/Construction Law (The University of Melbourne).
Since admission as a solicitor in 2012 and his call to the NSW Bar in 2015, Vikram has built a standout commercial litigation practice. He is especially sought after for property and construction disputes, where clients value his practical strategy, crisp advice, and persuasive courtroom presence.
A recognised voice in the field, Vikram is the author of Security of Payment in the NSW Building & Construction Industry (7th ed, Thomson Reuters, 2025). He also contributes to Thomson Reuters’ Commercial Arbitration Law and Practice across Domestic Arbitration, International Arbitration, Security of Payment (NSW), and Security of Payment (SA).
Vikram’s insights are in high demand. He regularly presents for The Law Society of NSW, the College of Law, Legalwise Seminars, BenchTV, and CPD for Me, and contributes to Legalwise Seminars on caveats, practice and procedure, building and construction, and arbitration and mediation (the latter co‑authored with Sydney Jacobs).
Committed to shaping the next generation of practitioners, Vikram teaches Building Law as a casual academic at Western Sydney University and has previously marked contract law examinations for the University of Sydney Law Extension Committee.
He appears in all state and federal courts and at NCAT, and, where appropriate, accepts direct access briefs.
Vikram is a member of the Accessibility Panel of the NSW Bar Association.
