New Practical Law Content
The Practical Law team is constantly at work keeping our existing content up to date and adding new content that fills out our offering, addresses new laws and regulations, or addresses developing areas of corporate and legal life that are increasingly relevant to day-to-day legal practice.
Sometimes this results in the creation of entirely new topics, like our new suite of content on mortgagees entering into possession of land and exercising their power of sale.
It also means incremental additions of content. In June, our Commercial Team published three new practice notes dealing with intellectual property:
- Practice note, Patent Litigation: Final Remedies (Australia).
- Practice note, AI and Patents: Key Considerations (Australia).
- Practice note, IP Protection for Pharmaceuticals (Australia).
The Corporate Team added new ancillary resources to their new Share schemes and incentives topic:
- Standard document, Board minutes: approval of incentive plan.
- Standard document, Written resolution of directors: approval of incentive plan.
- Standard document, Written resolution of members of a proprietary company: approval of incentive plan.
- Standard clause, Members' resolution: approval of incentive plan (ASX-listed company).
- Standard document, Cleansing notice given under section 708AA of the Corporations Act: rights issue.
- Standard document, Cleansing notice given under section 708A of the Corporations Act: sale offer.
Our Dispute Resolution Team revamped our our legal professional privilege content with:
- A substantial rewrite of our practice note on how legal professional privilege applies to special cases and our checklist on preserving privilege.
- New practice notes on privilege in the context of in-house lawyers, expert witnesses and regulatory investigations.
- New checklists on privilege in the context of in-house lawyers, expert witnesses and regulatory investigations.
Our employment team continues to update existing content for, and create new content responsive to, the ongoing program of employment law reform that has been central to the Albanese Government's legislative program. In June, this included:
- New content: Practice note, Unfair contract terms and independent contractors; Comparison of the unfair contract regime under the Fair Work Act and the Independent Contractors Act; Quick Guide to the unfair contract regimes under the Fair Work Act and the Independent Contractors Act.
- Substantially updated content: Practice note, FW Act: Serious contraventions of civil remedy provisions; Practice note, Entry notices, exemption certificates and affected member certificates; Practice note, Prohibitions in relation to right of entry; Practice note, Entry permits.
