Released in January 2010 the Mining and Petroleum Legislation Service is a unique resource that brings together legislation and regulations relating to all forms of mining, mineral exploration, onshore and offshore petroleum and pipelines in Australia.

In February we are publishing the Offshore Petroleum (Safety) Regulations 2009, which commenced on 1 January 2010. These Regulations repeal the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Occupational Health and Safety) Regulations 1993, the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Management of Safety on Offshore Facilities) Regulations 1996; and the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Diving Safety) Regulations 2002.

In March, the Greenhouse Gas Geological Sequestration Act 2008 will be the first legislation to publish within the Carbon Capture and Storage in the Victorian jurisdiction.
