Bruce Bulford discusses Kordister v Director of Liquor Licensing

Kordister v Director of Liquor Licensing , a decision of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal,  is discussed by Bruce Bulford in a January Bulletin for his service  Liquor Licensing Law & Practice NSW .

The case has relevance for NSW in light of the current amendments proposed by Sydney Council to its Late Night Trading Premises DCP 2007. Mr Bulford  summarises the case listing 19 main points.

As far as the author is aware, "the Kordister's case is the first instance where an appellate body on a merit review has gone against the undertone of government policy of the day, requiring real evidence before trading hours are reduced and taking into account the negative impact of the liquor industry as a whole."
