Find a Case by Citation - Westlaw AU

If you know the citation of a case you can retrieve the case in three easy steps

  • Simply enter the citation into the basic search box on the Westlaw Home Page eg. 185 clr 1
  • Click the Citation radio button
  • Then click the Search button

Note: Citations do not require quotation marks nor are they case sensitive.
Media neutral citations may be used eg. 1979 HCA 21 (or [1979] HCA 21 will locate the same case).
