Thomson Reuters is pleased to announce that The Honourable Justice Grant Riethmuller of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia and Dr Robin Smith, Barrister have been engaged to update and write new commentary for the Family Law commentary available in the Family Law Practice Area on the new Westlaw and in Dickey's Family Law with Legislation in Westlaw AU.

Judge Grant Riethmuller is a Judge of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia based in Melbourne, sitting primarily in Family Law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Queensland Institute of Technology and a Master of Philosophy degree from the University of Melbourne. From 1987, until his appointment, he practised as a barrister in a wide ranging practice. Prior to his appointment to the bench in 2004, he was the Editor of the Queensland Lawyer Journal and lectured part time in Civil Procedure at James Cook University. He has written and spoken extensively on family law for over 20 years.

Dr Robin Smith is a member of the Victorian Bar, practising exclusively in family law. He specialises in matters with complex questions of law, including issues related to bankruptcy, equity, trusts, and third-party disputes. He is a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers and is a qualified family law arbitrator. Robin was awarded a doctoral degree in law from Monash University in 2016. Prior to coming to the bar, Robin worked as a solicitor at a boutique commercial and construction law firm, and as an associate at the then Federal Magistrates Court of Australia. Robin has also taught at the Monash University Law School and worked as an associate legal officer for the United Nations at a war crimes tribunal.
