Ordering Case Versions
In response to customer feedback, from August 30th, Westlaw will display case versions in the following order when a case is reported in multiple report series:
- Authorised Law Reports (e.g., Commonwealth Law Reports, New South Wales Law Reports etc)
- General (e.g., Australian Law Journal Reports, Federal Law Reports)
- Specialist Law Reports (e.g., Australian Criminal Reports, Australian Tax Reports etc)
- Unreported (Westlaw version)
Within the same reports category, if more than one version is available, they will be listed in alphabetical order.
Old experience

The random order of case versions in the right pane makes it difficult to determine which version to cite.
New experience

With the new ordering, users can quickly locate the best and most authoritative version from the top of the list in the right pane.
NB: Access to the full text of the Thomson Reuters published case depends on the user's current subscription.
