Practice note: overview, Risk management: key terminology sets out a glossary of the key risk terms used in Practical Law's risk materials and across risk management practices and processes. It is intended as a reference document for those involved in risk management, whether legal risk management or more broadly. Terms are largely based on the Risk Management Dictionary to ISO 31000 2009.

For a list of resources to help in-house lawyers with risk management and compliance responsibilities, see Toolkit, Risk and compliance centre.
