Practical Law Australia’s Legal update: Senate launches inquiry into the Australian manufacturing industry provides an outline of the current Senate inquiry into the Australian manufacturing industry which was referred to the Economic References Committee (Committee) on 12 August 2021. As a key part of the government's ongoing COVID-19 recovery strategy, the Committee will determine what manufacturing capacities Australia must develop to achieve economic growth, national resilience, improvements to the living standards for all Australians, and overall security in the region. The inquiry is accepting submissions until 10 September 2021 with a view to producing a final report by 24 November 2021.
