Great New Features for Cases – Available Friday the 8th October 2010

We have been busy putting the finishing touches on the New Thomson Reuters Cases. We appreciate your patience in this process and are very happy to advise the release will take place on the evening of Thursday the 7th of October. Please note Lawbook & Legal Online will be offline that night from 8-9pm to complete the migration.

We will be reminding you of the changes again prior to and on the release date. However we wanted to provide you with some resources so you can prepare for the upcoming release.

What will I need to do?

We will take care of the detail and upgrade your subscription/s automatically. We will advise you when this upgrade is completed and how you can get the most out of your New Cases products.

Where will I find the New Cases Products once they Go Live?

If you log in to your cases products via Legal Online the New Cases products will simply appear under the Cases Tab alongside FirstPoint. If you do not subscribe to FirstPoint you will see a new tab called “Cases”. You will find your New Cases Product/s under this tab.

If you currently log in to your cases products via Lawbook Online you will need to log in to them via Legal Online from the 8th onwards. You can do this by selecting Legal Online in the subscriber login drop down on the Thomson Reuters Corporate site or by linking directly (see details below) to Legal Online.

If you deep link directly in to your cases products you will need to update your deep links and any favourites you have saved on the 8th of October. Click here for a list of New Cases Deep Links. Simply locate your current deep link or favourite and replace the old URL with the new one listed in the document.

If you deep link from your intranet we advise that you forward this email on to your Intranet or IT Team as they will need to make these changes for you and your colleagues.

About New Cases

Along with new and enhanced functionality designed to improve the effectiveness of your case law research you will be able to search all cases content (full-text cases and FirstPoint summaries) simultaneously from a single search form and we have redesigned our hitlists to make them easier to use.

Additional features will include deep-linking capability to a case record and saved searches.
