Launch of new Internet Law subtitle for The Laws of Australia
Thomson Reuters is delighted to announce the launch of a brand new Subtitle 6.9 “Internet Law” in The Laws of Australia encyclopaedia. We have released this subtitle in recognition of the pervasive nature of the internet in our society, and the extensive laws that have emerged, regulating content and activity in that space.
This Subtitle provides expansive coverage of the application of these laws across the following topic areas encompassing the breadth of the internet: the regulation of online content; spam; online gambling; copyright infringement; cybercrime; and domain names.
It discusses the principal laws that govern these areas including, among others: the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 (Cth), the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (Cth), the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), the Criminal Code (Cth), and the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP), and the cases decided under these laws.
TLA Subtitle 6.9 “Internet Law” is co-authored by Valeska Bloch and Adrian Fisher, two leading practitioners in the communications and technology law area.
Valeska Bloch is a Managing Associate in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications team at Allens, specialising in the procurement and development of large-scale ICT platforms and telecommunications projects.
