This year we added to The Laws of Australia (TLA) with new subtitle 6.9 Communications “Internet Law”, covering topics such as online content regulation, spam, online gambling, copyright infringement, cybercrime and domain names.

The December update to TLA includes both 5.10 Civil Procedure “Table of Limitation of Actions”, which will feature in Limitation of Actions: The Laws of Australia (4^th edition, forthcoming 2017), and 35.9 Unfair Dealing “Unconscionable Dealing”, part of Unconscionable Conduct: The Laws of Australia (3^rd edition, forthcoming 2017).

Two new TLA books were released in 2016:

• Torts: The Laws of Australia (3^rd edition), edited by Dr Paul Vout: a comprehensive introduction to the law of torts, presented earlier in the year at the Obligations VIII Conference in Cambridge, UK.
• Administrative Law: The Laws of Australia (1^st edition), edited by Mark Robinson SC and adding to its companion piece, Judicial Review: The Laws of Australia, with chapters on tribunals, Ombudsmen, statutory appeals and freedom of information.

Westlaw ANZ Mobility Release

The Westlaw ANZ Mobility Release enhancements make The Laws of Australia encyclopaedia even easier to use. Access to the encyclopaedia is now directly available through the Westlaw homepage – found on the left-hand navigation window under “The Laws of Australia”.

The new release is fully optimised, no matter which device you want to view it on. The mobile-friendly interface supports mobile phones and tablets, which means you can now research on the go, wherever you are. You don't need to download a separate application or go to a new website. Instead, you can access it from its current website at www.westlaw.com.au.

Refresh yourself on The Laws of Australia with the updated table of limitation of actions in subtitle 5.10 Civil Procedure “Limitation of Actions”, or read up on the latest subtitle 6.9 Communications “Internet Law”. You can also follow links from the encyclopaedia to the most recent cases and journal articles – all from the comfort of your daily commute.

You may also notice a number of changes to the look and feel of Westlaw, including a smoother interface with more intuitive icons, link paths and more stylish fonts. Meeting with the Editor-in-Chief

In October 2016, we hosted our regular TLA/Journals Board Meeting with the Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG, Editor-in-Chief of The Laws of Australia, at our Sydney office, where he was briefed on the new Westlaw enhancements. He was thrilled with the ease of access that the update provides to practitioners and students alike, going so far as to suggest a hardwired, posthuman expansion plan for the encyclopaedia.
