The Company and Securities Law JournalVol 38 No 5, Special Issue, “Financial Services Laws – Understanding the Devil in the Detail”, will be launched at a webinar on 20 July, organised by the Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC) and Melbourne Law School.

The ALRC’s Newsletter says the webinar “will explore financial services laws in Australia through the lens of the C&SLJ Special Issue”. For details and registration for the webinar, “The Devilish Detail of Financial Services Laws”, go to:  https://www.alrc.gov.au/news/webinar-devilish-detail/

The Special Issue, the product of a collaboration between the ALRC and leading academics, examines Australia’s complex financial services regulatory regime, with articles critically analysing:

  • complexity in legislative design;
  • the use and proliferation of delegated legislation;
  • the evolution of disclosure regulation;
  • the licensing regimes in respect of financial services, credit and superannuation; and
  • the duties of loyalty that are owed by the providers of financial advice, superannuation funds and mortgage broking services.
