New authored content

The Restraining Orders Act 1997 (WA) includes 20 annotations by local practitioner, Marty Kavanagh. These concise annotations are structured to help practitioners reach the information they need as quickly as possible.

Other new value-adding content and features

  • Index to commentary

Users can now access the Index to the commentary portion of the work written by Anthony Dickey QC, first published as Family Law 6e (2013) in book and eBook editions.

  • Case notes  to the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth)

The Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) now features over 95 case notes which have been extracted from Thomson Reuters' long-standing research publication, Commonwealth Statutes Annotations.

Western Australia (WA) jurisdiction

This product includes features of particular relevance to WA practitioners, including:

  • Case notes

Where the Family Court Act 1997 (WA) has an equivalent provision in the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) and there is case law under the Commonwealth provision, a case note on the Commonwealth case law has been published under the WA provision. These case annotations are extracted from the Thomson Reuters publication, Commonwealth Statutes Annotations.

  • Comparative table of provisions between Family Court Act 1997 (WA) and Family Law Act 1975 (Cth)

More practical content of this kind is planned for future updates.

And for those who may not be aware, Family Law Precedents - NSW Law Society is also available on Westlaw AU.
