New biodiversity legislation in Planning & Development Service NSW

Brand new biodiversity legislation commentary has been added to the Planning & Development Service NSW by author Stefani White. The biodiversity legislation review and draft Bill has been significantly highlighted and is the focus of the August 2016 update of this looseleaf, Westlaw and ProView subscription service.

The Independent Biodiversity Legislation Review Panel presented its final report to the New South Wales Government in December 2014. The report included 43 recommendations to improve the legislative and policy framework for biodiversity conservation and native vegetation management in New South Wales. The recommendations are reflected in a draft Biodiversity Conservation Bill 2016, a draft Local Land Services (Amendment) Bill 2016 and supporting legislation. The draft legislation substantially remodels NSW biodiversity laws.

See new commentary in Planning & Development Service NSW on how the legislation impacts the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 at [BIODIV.EPAA.10] to [BIODIV.EPAA.190] and read further about the draft Bill in the brand new Biodiversity chapter at [BIODIV.LR.10] to [BIODIV.LR.190].
