New family law titles now on Westlaw AU
Westlaw AU has more to offer family law practitioners than ever before with the release of two new subscription works at the end of October.
Dickey’s Family Law with Legislation takes the newly published sixth edition of Anthony Dickey’s text, Family Law, which states the law as at September 2013, and adds to it a set of Commonwealth and WA legislation that is maintained as Law in Force.
It is the first time in nearly 30 years of publishing that Dickey’s commentary has been available online, offering Westlaw AU users the benefits of search and browse over a work that is the product of a single, experienced voice developed over multiple editions.
Plans for Dickey’s Family Law with Legislation in 2014 include the addition of domestic violence and child support legislation as well as introducing practitioner-authored key section annotations to the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) and Family Court Act 1997 (WA).
The second new family law offering on Westlaw AU is Family Law Precedents – NSW Law Society, comprising over 120 forms and precedents created and maintained by TressCox as the Family Law suite from the Law Society’s collection. On Westlaw AU, the documents are in downloadable Word format, so users need not move between multiple sources of information as they move between researching points of law and completing necessary documentation.
Together, these two new subscriptions offer commentary, legislation and precedents to family law practitioners where it has not been previously available.
They also highlight the much larger set of family law content which is already available on Westlaw AU in products such as Family Law Review and Alert24 – Family Law. There are thousands of family law cases in FirstPoint, Unreported Judgments, and state and federal reports series including Federal Law Reports and Commonwealth Law Reports. Family law practice is addressed in Federal Circuit Court Guidebook and coverage of the area, including child welfare, adoption and surrogacy, is also available in The Laws of Australia.
If you are a family law specialist, Westlaw AU is now a platform that provides you with the content you need.
If you are a general practitioner, Westlaw AU now addresses your family law requirements – as well as all the property, succession, litigation, commercial and criminal law information you also need – on the one platform.
