Vale Tom Hurley
We wish to acknowledge the invaluable contribution to the Victorian Administrative Reports made by the late Thomas Victor Hurley who passed away in November 2015. We offer our sincerest thanks for his diligence over many years and our condolences to his family.
Tom joined as Editor of the Victorian Administrative Reports in 1991, commencing with Volume 3, and continuing until Volume 33.
Emrys Nekvapil
We would like to take this opportunity to introduce the new Editor for the Victorian Administrative Reports, Emrys Nekvapil who has stepped into the role commencing with Volume 34.
Emrys is the General Editor of Victorian Administrative Law, a leading commentary service which provides a complete guide to the practice and procedure of administrative law in Victoria. He is also the co-author, with Jason Pizer, of Pizer's Annotated VCAT Act 5th Edition (2015), also published by Thomson Reuters.
Emrys is a barrister, practising in public and commercial law, with chambers on Level 22, Owen Dixon Chambers West. He has a Master of Laws (Government and Commercial) from the Australian National University. Before coming to the bar in 2009, Mr Nekvapil was a solicitor in the litigation group at Mallesons Stephen Jacques (now King & Wood Mallesons), Melbourne, where he worked under the supervision of Emilios Kyrou (now Justice Kyrou of the Victorian Court of Appeal).
We are very fortunate to have Emrys join the Victorian Administrative Reports and are confident that with his expert knowledge of Victorian administrative law, the series is in good hands.
