WESTLAW AU ENHANCEMENT – Annotations – Inline Note

Inline Notes are notes that refer to specific text in the document.  Adding Notes to text on Westlaw AU is just as easy as adding Highlights.

Simply highlight the text that you would like your note associated with and the same pop-up menu you use to create Highlights will also allow you to create Notes.

2015-03-20_1057To add Inline Notes:

  1. Select the text you would like to annotate.
  2. Once you have done so a pop-up will appear, giving you the option of adding a note.
  3. Click on Add Note.
  4. Enter the note text and click Add Note

Westlaw AU will prompt you to save the document at this point, assuming that as you have annotated the document it is important to you.

If you select no, you will not be prompted again on the current document. If you do not want to be prompted at all, tick the “Do not show me this message again for current session” box and then click No.

To edit an Inline Note, click on the edit 2015-03-17_1606_001 icon in the top right hand corner of the note, make changes and click Confirm.

To remove an Inline Note, simply click on the red X in the top right hand corner of the note and click Delete.

For more information on annotating documents refer to the Westlaw AU Annotations Guide.
