Westlaw AU Feature Spotlight - Consolidated Results & Document Display

Consolidated Results & Consolidated Document Display are core features of Westlaw AU.

Consolidated Results work in conjunction with Consolidated Document Display to ensure that no matter how you find your way to a record, all other relevant records are available to you in the one location.

Consolidated Results

In the search result example below, I have located a CLR record for "IceTV Pty Ltd V Nine Network Australia PTY Ltd". You can see the CLR document identified in the hits in context as the second result returned.

The power of consolidated results, is that in the same results screen I can also see the FirstPoint Classifications for this case even though I didn't search FirstPoint and I can also review or deliver the other available documents on this case (i.e, FirstPoint Record, Australian Law Journal Report and Unreported Judgement) and their respective PDF/RTF versions directly from the results screen even though I didn't search those products or get a hit in them.

The "Hit Terms in Context" & bold citations indicate the documents that include my search term/s, with the additional information available to me if I choose to use it.

Consolidated Document Display

In the document view example below I have linked through to the CLR record for "IceTV Pty Ltd V Nine Network Australia PTY Ltd".

The power of Consolidated Document Display is that in the same screen I can move seamlessly through different Tabs to access the other available documents (i.e, FirstPoint, Unreported Judgement and Australian Law Journal Report) for that case to expand my research. I can also view the FirstPoint Classification & Flag from any Tab I don't have to go into the FirstPoint Tab to get this important information.

Consolidated Results & Consolidated Document Display do the work of compiling information for you, relevant records are always grouped together so at any time you can easily expand your research from the current document to other available documents about that case, article, legislation etc. This ensures users have the full picture at all times and don't miss critical information that may be relevant to their research.
