When Thomson Reuters’ Workplace Review spoke with the President of Fair Work Australia, Justice Geoffrey Giudice, in June this year, readers met a man who enjoys the challenges of being the head of Australia’s leading workplace tribunal.

 “Dispute resolution is an interesting field –it’s all about building relationships”, the judge said.

“(E)verything I do involves human relationships and addressing conflicts. Our aim is to assist to resolve these conflicts in a civilised manner.”

While his reputation as a dedicated professional of integrity, dignity and independence is well established, readers may not have been so familiar with Justice Giudice’s interests when he is off-duty. Time with family, bridge, golf, and the Melbourne Demons are all close to the judge’s heart – the theme of human relationships transcends the public / private distinction.
