Joshua Thomson appointed to Supreme Court of Western Australia

Joshua Thomson SC, one of the expert authors of Commercial Contract Clauses: Principles and Interpretation (4th Edition) and updating service has been appointed to the Supreme Court of Western Australia and will serve as a judge of appeal and the President of the Court of Appeal.

His Honour’s appointment was announced by Chief Justice Peter Quinlan who highlighted his vast experience and the important role he will play in the Court of Appeal. 
He previously practised as an independent barrister, specialising in commercial law and public law, before being appointed as Assistant Crown Counsel with the Crown Solicitor's Office. He also served as Solicitor General for Western Australia from 2018 to 2023. 
His Honour commenced as a judge of the Court on 11 June 2025.
